VAT 24% - With a deduction option for time spent outside of EU waters or in international waters. This will take into consideration all chartered days in an accounting year. Concerning Mykonos Discounted at 50% (VAT 12%), this will be for yachts that spend a minimum of 60% of charter time / days outside of territorial waters. (Territorial waters are considered: 12 nautical miles from the mainland and 12 nautical miles from the territorial waters of an island. Any destination from Mykonos Island to nearby Cycladic islands is not considered as cruising within international waters according to the Greek law as the distances required are not met due to the configuration and position of each island during a cruise to our final destination within the Cyclades.
Should the Charter fail to fulfill the conditions for VAT discount application or should any changes in applicable tax legislation take place after the issuance of the charter agreement, that result in change of final charter VAT and hence of total amount(s) due, then the difference will be credited or debited accordingly to the Charterer. VAT legislation and the resulting VAT rates and conditions applicable are subject to change without prior notice, at no responsibility of the Broker, Stakeholder or Owner.
As stipulated by Greek Law, Value Added Tax is collected by the Owner at the expense of the Charterer. The Charterer shall at all times be liable to pay for the VAT amount applicable by Law at the time the charter is executed.
