Captain Daniel
Dan is a kiwi and outdoor and sport enthusiast and has been on the water water-skiing and around boats since he was eight years old. His passion for chasing waves surfing across the world and diving in the richest oceans has driven him to find a life on the sea. From a young age he has been a competitive outdoor sportsman, from representing New Zealand at the Wakeboarding World Championships in Korea, to competing at NZ National Events for surfing, triathlons, snow skiing and last year competing at the worlds hardest adventure race in NZ, ‘Godzone’.
Through travelling Dan has also discovered his passion for helping the natural environments and he became an Environmental Scientist (majoring in Biological Science) working in the water quality field in New Zealand.
In 2020 Kate and Dan bought a classic 1980 H28 family cruising boat in New Zealand in 2020 and have spent the last two years living on board their yacht sailing and exploring with friends and family, prior to choosing to operate crewed charters in the Grenadines. Dan now has over 14,000 miles as a captain and many more miles as crew on various sail and power boats. He is a competent, calm and reliable captain in any situation. He also enjoys showing people new experiences and is always looking out to ensure everyone is having a great time both on and off the water exploring the islands hiking, activities and underwater sealife.
Chef Kate
Kate was born and raised in New Zealand next to the ocean and has salt water in her blood, from growing up surfing, competing in national surf lifesaving competitions, to free diving and fishing with family. Her love for travel and new experiences has lead to Kate’s passion for sailing. She is a very empathetic, kind and generous person who is always looking out for those around her.
Kate has a degree in Nursing where she finds enjoyment in caring for and supporting people. Her passion for encouraging good health has stemmed from cooking and eating fresh locally sourced produce, while ensuring all meat/ fish has been caught sustainably caught. Although she does love cooking and producing tasty dishes, she has also never held back from getting in the water and sourcing the food herself, whether it be a large kingfish or lunging under a rock to find a lobster..
Travelling the world she has enjoyed cuisines of different cultures and often the food coming from the galley can range from Indonesian influenced dishes to more traditional New Zealand farm cooked meals, and everything in between.
Katie and Dan are well in tune with all aspects of boat life and as well as enjoying this beautiful lifestyle themselves, they find great pleasure in sharing amazing experiences on the water, whether it be enjoying colourful sunsets to dolphin watching or snorkelling in crystal clear water. They also understand the importance of excellent service. They are looking forward to getting to know you, as you come and enjoy the best of what the Grenadines have to offer!
